Gayla Smith, vocalist, pianist,guitarist, bassist, and composer, has performed in central Ohio for over three decades and has also shared her talents with audiences in Milwaukee,Nashville, New York, Washington D.C.,Key West, St.Thomas, and Nassau. In 2008-2009 Gayla was hired by Carnival Cruise lines as a piano bar entertainer on The Glory playing in their posh Cinn-a-Bar. In spring of 2009, Gayla was hired to play bass guitar and for the well-seasoned, hard driving rock band, Soul Drive, also performing on Carnival's Glory.

Some of the central Ohio venues hosting Gayla's performances include: The Governor's Mansion for the State of Ohio, The Buckeye Lake Yacht Club, Gatsbys in Gahanna, opened for McGuffey Lane at Seton Fest, The State House, The Scioto Country Club, The New Albany Country Club, The Hilton Columbus at Easton, Lindy’s in German Village, Marietta Boat Club, Stache and Little Brothers, Club Diversity, The Hyatt Regency, The Jefferson Country Club, The Copper Penny, Mirror Lake Café Ohio State Campus, The Galley in Marietta Ohio, PaPa Boo's, Midway Tap, Smitty’s On The Lake, The View (Island House), Franklin Park Conservatory, Club Diversity in German Village, Oktoberfest in Genoa Park, The Columbus Arts Festival, The Davis Shai House, Dawes Arboretum, and many others.

Gayla has a versatile style with a song list that ranges everywhere from Billie Holliday to The Pretenders. She has been described by her followers as having “the voice of an angel” and is equally admired as an accomplished pianist/guitarist.

Gayla currently resides in the Columbus, Ohio area where she works as a visual artist and plays trio, duo and solo pop, rock, and jazz performances. Additionally, Gayla performs voice-over work as well as dramatic roles in local television commercials. She also composes and records her own original music.
